So the data collection assignment has really been great for poking holes in my research design and pointing out that I still don't 100% know what I'm doing, which is nice (?). I still need to think more carefully about exactly what words I'm going to focus on for the discourse analysis portion of my project, but at least the assignment for today forced me to figure some of that out. Today I also learned that I'm really bad at keeping sources organized and labeling files that contain important data, but at least doing the data collection thing forced me to get things sorted out a little better. I've started to play around with Nvivo a little bit as well, so if anyone else is in the same boat or knows of any good resources to learn, let me know--it would be much appreciated!
In this blog the AU Global Scholars document their efforts in applying rigorous research methods to their projects in the field of international studies. The aim is to briefly present a challenge that they encountered AND the solution they came up with, such that their peers can respond and/or learn.
